Going to and from SDU

When you are going to SDU, we recommend using the city busses. Bus #41 and #42 will both take you to SDU. The front of the bus says “Universitetet”. The busses depart from Platform A at the central train station, as shown on the map below. To get to platform A, enter the train station through the main entrance and exit through the back entrance, right across the main entrance. Turn left and you’ll arrive at platform A. Click here for relevant departures to SDU, with bus number, departure time, and arrival.

When you arrive at the university, you will arrive at the bus stop to the west of the building. On the Monday and Tuesday you will be greeted here by some of our student volunteers. They will point you in the direction of entrance H (alternatively J), and from here there is a short walk to the conference registration desk at the presentation rooms.

From SDU
When leaving SDU you can take the same busses back to the central train station. They will now say “Tarup” or “Bolbro” but have the same numbers, #41 and #42.

Going to Odense

By train
Transfer by train directly from Copenhagen takes approximately 1.5 hours, and 1 hour 15 minutes from Billund (including shuttlebus from Billund to Vejle). From Hamburg you can travel by train directly to Odense railway station, which is 5-10 minutes of walking to the ICE-4-hotels.

By air
Together, Copenhagen and Billund airports are directly connected to more than 100 cities all over the world, and handle over 32 million passengers every year.

By car
Car rental services are available at all airports and many cities (including Odense). Visitors to Denmark may be eligible for tax-free car hire.

Free transport in Odense
There are free inner city bus services that run at approximately ten-minute intervals. The buses are easy to recognize – they are pink and decorated with characters from Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tales.

Odense also offers free city bikes. You can borrow a city bike for free with your mobile phone and keep it for up to 24 hours.
